My name might be deceiving. "Nuria" is the name of a Catalonian virgen, typical of this region. I did my earliest
studies in the Colegio de la Merce (another typical Catalonian name, this one of the patron saint of Barcelona). Despite this, I was
born in Madrid, which has caused some to joke that these coincidences mean that I was "predestined" to live in Catalonia (Barcelona).
In my childhood and youth I lived in various parts of Spain, but from age ten, the same number of years I've been married, I've lived in Barcelona,
and since 1992 (the year the Olympic Games took place in that city), I've dedicated myself, among other things, to teaching Spanish and Spanish literature
to foreign students such as yourselves.
My interests, for which I occasionally have a little time (or very little time) include reading, music, theater, film, travel, and
cycling with my husband and five year-old son.
When I studied in Madrid (I began teaching my first classes at the Complutense), I was part of an ensemble that specialized
in medieval and Renaissance music, and then in Barcelona, I participated in a poetry group in which I recited or sang poems,
since singing is another interest to which I confess.
I've been able to discover in this corner of the Mediterranean a rich and fascinating culture.
I invite you to get to know it.
