Josep Contreras

My name is Jose-Maria, a traditional Spanish name. I was born and raised in Barcelona. And I took my degree in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Barcelona. I specialized in Spanish as a Second Language. I have special interest in the use of Neuro-Linguistic Programming as a teaching tool and creating original teaching material. I've been to the US on five occasions while I was collaborating in workshops with the educators from Casa Hispana in San Francisco, CA. Living in San Francisco was a wonderful experience!

Over the years, I've worked with international companies and I've taught Spanish and Catalan for foreign business students. I'm currently studying Scriptwriting and Film Directing. To date I have written and directed two short films as well as a short play. I'm interested in all the arts, specially painting, photography, and music. I love Jazz music and musicals. My interests also include travel, acting and learning to play the piano.

I think Barcelona has something for everyone and as a bilingual city its people appreciate and welcome those who come to study its culture.
