This course is designed for those students that aim to have very good control of the
principles of Spanish at the intermediate level. There is a review of past tenses: preterite, imperfect, pluperfect and an introduction of subjunctive conjugation.
The course utilizes extensive oral work in conjunction with reading and writing exercises focusing on prose texts, news articles, daily life, and culture. Students
do 2 oral presentations in class about cultural aspects of Spain.

| SP203 Intermediate Business Spanish |

This class focuses on the necessary communicative skills to be successful in the Spanish
business world. Use of a special Spanish Business text book and actual case studies of Spanish and American businesses will be used to further the students learning
in grammatical, lexical and intercultural topics. An additional focus will be placed on learning to write in professional Spanish. At the end of the semester students
have the opportunity to take the Business Spanish Exam (Examen Intermedio de EspaƱol de los Negocios) offered by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce the IESE Business
School.

| CT101 Catalan Language for Beginners |

This Catalan course uses communicative activities (learning by tasks) that work with a
lexical context (study of basic vocabulary) and study a supporting grammar. The content includes gender and number agreement, articles, pronouns, adverbs and
prepositions, present indicative, preterit ad imperfect tenses, and will touch on the future tense. This grammatical base will allow the students to communicate
and understand everyday conversations by the end of the course as well as produce texts at a basic competence level.
