Internships - Advanced
Internships
An internship capitalizes on the potential for your immersion in the Spanish culture and your intercultural development, enriching your understanding and appreciation of
the culture of the host country. This form of experiential learning develops your intercultural competence, builds your skill set and improves your Spanish language
proficiency. You will upgrade your resume and this will allow you to obtain future professional experience.
Business, Architecture and Language Teaching Internships integrate academic learning with practical experience and help you to make the transition from the university to the
working world. Participation in an Internship is not dependent on your Spanish language proficiency. Students from all tracks (beginner, intermediate I, intermediate II & advanced) are admitted to the Business, Architecture and Language Teaching seminar. Only Advanced and Intermediate II Spanish level students will be admitted into the Advanced Spanish for Service Learning, which is taught in Spanish.
IES Barcelona offers three categories of internships, carried out in conjunction with their respective seminars, worth 3 credits each

private schools. Students are required to work for eight hours a week at their assigned placement. The second part of this course involves lectures, activies, film and TV series viewings and class debates concerning various themes of
