Palamos

Palamos is one of the most important fishing harbors in Costa Brava, with a fleet including all types of fishing vessels that operate in the Mediterranean, from large bottom trawlers to small artisanal boats.

Fishing vessels come back to the harbor every afternoon to sell the catch in the fish auction to fishmongers and restaurant owners. Palamos also hosts the only Spanish museum devoted to commercial fishing, where traditional fishing vessels and fishing gears are shown.

The field study includes a visit to the Fishing Museum late in the morning and a visit to the harbor and the fish auction after lunch.

There are some great quality fish restaurants in the village for those students interested in tasting the local produce.
