Delta de l'Ebre

Delta de l'Ebre is one of the most important coastal wetlands in the Western Mediterranean. Thousands of waterfowls and waders use it as a wintering spot and several species of marine birds, including the highly endangered Audoin's sea gull, nest in spring the huge and lonely beaches and sand dunes of the delta. Flamingos, ducks and herons can be seen all year round. Examples of the major coastal ecosystems of the Mediterranean are found there and can be easily visited: beaches, sand dunes, coastal lagoons, salt marshes, estuaries, shallow bays and eelgrass meadows.

This field study also includes a visit to a Natural History Museum.
