Study Tours
An exciting new addition to the Fall 2006 academic program are the optional Study Tours. Students can participate in a study tour during the 10-day mid-semester break. Study tours are faculty led academic trips associated with a selection of IES Spanish Language and Area Studies courses. Only those students enrolled in a course associated with a specific study tour will be able to participate. There are a limited number of spaces available on a first come, first served basis. Students can only sign up for a study tour on-site.
The following study tours are offered during the mid-semester Fall 2006 break which takes place from October 12th to 22nd :
IES offers a unique experience in Fall2006: The Camino de Santiago Study Tour, a mixture of culture, history, language, and light sport. This Study Tour will be faculty-led, and you will get to know one of the most famous pilgrimage routes in Europe. You will hike, see superb landscapes, eat traditional food, and get to know the beautiful and holy city of Santiago de Compostela. You will also meet people you can practice your Spanish with. Through the positive intermingling of Berber, Arab, Islamic, Jewish, Roman, Andalusian, French, Saharan and Sub-Saharan Cultures, Morocco has been a place for innovation in the arts of living and building. Take the chance to explore, in a safe and friendly atmosphere, the wonders of an Arab country closely related to Spain and Europe.
