Intermediate I

Intermediate I (or low intermediate) students can communicate in written and oral Spanish, but are not expected to follow a class in Spanish at regular speed or read original texts. Most have two semesters of college-level Spanish language or the equivalent. Supported by IES language classes, cultural interaction in local universities, and extracurricular activities, students will improve language skills and cultural understanding.

Course enrollment options:

  • Spanish Language at the Intermediate I level (required)
  • IES Area Studies in English
  • Regular courses in English at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and Universitat Ramon Llull (URL)
  • Estudios Hispanicos in Spanish at UPF and Universitat de Barcelona (UB)
