Pau Mari-Klose (Eivissa, 12-15-1972) is sociologist. He holds a Graduate degree in Geography and History obtained at the
University of Barcelona, as well as a Master degree in Social Sciences from the Center for Advanced Studies of the Juan March
Institute and a Master degree in Sociology from the University of Chicago. Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Organization
Analysis at the Universitat de Barcelona (1999-2000 and Fall 2004), he is PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology of the
University of Chicago. He has been awarded with fellowships and grants from the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas, The University
of Chicago (Henderson Fund), La Caixa, the Fundacion Juan March and the University of Oslo. He has participated in short-term study
programs in the University of Berkeley, the Lancaster University, the University of Oslo, Harvard University and Michigan University
(ICPSR). He was official Spanish nominee for the COST research program on Action 14 Government and Democracy in the
Information Age, commissioned by the EU, and coordinator of one of its work groups (ICTs and Political Parties). He has published
one book (Rational Choice. Madrid: Centro de Investigaciones Sociologicas, 2000), book reviews, journal and press articles,
and has participated in a large number of social research endeavors. He is currently working on his second book about transitions
to adulthood in Spain. His research interests include methodology of social sciences (especially network analysis), political sociology
and economic sociology.
