In 1999, after almost fours years spent between Paris and Belgium, I moved to Barcelona. I am Colombian by birth, a novelist by trade
and an expatriate by nature. I was educated in English (sometimes with an American accent), and my cultural preferences exist
unapologetically in the English language. So Barcelona turned out to be the perfect place for me: a city which is evidently European,
but Latin in spirit; a city which welcomes foreigners and never ceases to absorb them into its own culture. Barcelona is at the same time
intimate and cosmopolitan, and this you will notice from the moment you set foot in the city. Of course some of us will give you so much
good stuff to read, so many good films to see, you will barely want to do that.
