I come, originally, from Barcelona, although I consider myself a citizen of the world... or at least a combination between a European and an American.
I lived in New York City for twelve years (studied, worked, had fun, suffered, had fun again, married thereā¦) and, upon my return to Europe,
I understood I had become a sort of "hybrid" product. This turned out to be somewhat disconcerting in the beginning but extremely positive after all:
It resulted in my seeing the world from a much broader perspective, more tolerant, more understanding of differences... It let me set aside many prejudices
and, believe me, getting rid of prejudices has a most wonderful outcome: You enjoy life more and better.
I hope your experience in Barcelona will have this very same effect on you. As a professor at IES, this is precisely what I would like
to teach you: Besides introducing you to the theoretical, academic aspects of the course subjects, in whatever discipline I'll encourage you to put aside
any prejudices, pre-conceived ideas, inflexible attitudes⦠so that you learn more and enjoy it better.
