I was born in Barcelona, where I have spent most of my life. I finished my degree in Psychology at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1994. On the last year of my degree, I went to the University of Manchester (UK) through the Erasmus exchange program. After finishing my degree, I stayed in England for a few years, completing a Masters degree in Social Research Methods and a PhD. in sociology.
I am currently teaching at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in the department of Audiovisual Communication and at the School of Public Relations of Universitat de Barcelona. The courses I teach are, at graduate level, Communication Theory and Research Methods in Communication. At postgraduate level I teach Research Methods and Techniques in Social Communication.
My research interests include mass media effects, discourse analysis of media, media and the social construction of reality, etc.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the cinema, theatre, doing sports (especially basketball), reading, travelling, etc.
