I am very happy about being part of the IES body at Barcelona. I know that IES and its team will provide you with the most exciting experiences while you are living in this beautiful city.

I have lived in the Midwest of the United States for more than twelve years, but I also traveled to other states. I first lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After a few years, I went north, to Milwaukee. A few months later I moved south to Oxford, Ohio, but lived in the city of Cincinnati. Then I found a job and moved north again, to Chicago. From this beautiful city a moved to the east, to Howe, a very small town in Indiana. During this big period of time I studied my BA at Indiana University and my MA at Miami University, all combined with my working experiences throughout these states. Although I went through many challenges while living and working in the USA, I can tell you that it was a very gratifying experience, an unique one.

I know how difficult are the challenges you are about to find, but you should keep in mind that you are not alone in this odyssey. Do not despair! Do not feel alone! You just remember that you will always have a great team on your side, the people of IES. Once you go back to the States you will take with you an unique feeling that will remain with you for a whole life. Please, enjoy this exceptional opportunity, and get involved in this great city and its culture. At the very end you will have many new friends and your Spanish will have improved a lot. Of course, do not be timid and study as much as possible. Have a good one!
